Heavy rain, waterlogging again brings Delhi-NCR to a standstill
NEW DELHI: Heavy rain on Wednesday morning again brought Delhi to a standstill, just like it did on Monday, with waterlogging already causing huge traffic snarls in the capital and in NCR.
All flights to and from Delhi have also been delayed, according to reports. More than a dozen flights were delayed at Delhi’s IGI airport and some flights have been diverted to Jaipur.Civic authorities and Delhi police have asked residents to stay away from the roads as far as possible. It started to pour around 7 am in various parts of Delhi NCR and by 9 am water was knee-deep in over a dozen neighbourhoods.
Poice are also asking the capital’s residents to avoid the areas of Alipur Village, Okhla Underpass, Jasola Red Light,Saket M.B. Road, Saket Metro Station, Lado Sarai T-Point and the PTS Red Light. Other areas to be avoided are Ring Road Dhaula Kuan, Bhairon Road towards Mathura Road route, IGNOU Road and the IP Flyover towards Sarai 1/3 route.
