The CEO of Vistara, along with pilots and management, will convene at 1 p.m. to discuss the Air India merger standoff.
DGCA took action against Vistara, which was in a dispute with its pilots over a new salary arrangement before the merger with Air India. This was prompted by the cancellation of 61 flights.
On April 3, Vistara CEO Vinod Kannan convened an urgent meeting with all pilots and top management, including the Human Resources division, aiming to address the deadlock over a newly proposed pay structure before the merger with Air India.
The airline has faced a surge in cancellations over the past few days as some Vistara pilots took sick leave in protest against a new salary structure introduced in mid-February. Initially, there were 10-15 cancellations daily following the announcement, but the number rose significantly over the weekend. According to the airline, more than 100 flights were cancelled on Monday and Tuesday.
