At the launch event held at the Chhatrasal Stadium on the anniversary of the birth of the revolutionary freedom fighter Bhagat Singh, the Chief Minister commented that today people feel patriotic only when they lift the Tricolor or sing the national anthem. But patriotism has to be an ever-evolving sentiment within everyone, he said.
“For the last 74 years, we have taught Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in our schools, but we did not teach Deshbhakti to children. Patriotism is within all of us but it needs a push. Every child in Delhi will be a patriot in the strictest sense. The Deshbhakti Curriculum will prove to be instrumental in the development of the country and will move India forward rapidly. “” Today we only feel patriotic when we raise the Tricolor or sing the National Anthem. The problem is that it only holds up when we do something like this, “said CM Kejriwal.
Raising the slogans Bharat Mata ki Jai, Inquilab Zindabad and Vande Matram, the prime minister said: “We need to develop an environment where each and every one of our children feels constantly patriotic with every step we take. Patriotism has to be a constant sentiment. evolution within all of us. ” Mr. Kejriwal said that all kinds of professionals are emerging deshbhakt professionals who are not developing. “It does not mean that we will not promote professions.
We will continue to support all kinds of education, but we will add a touch of patriotic values to them. We will develop deshbhakt doctors, lawyers, engineers, actors, singers, artists, journalists, etc.” A deshbhakt doctor would look for them. helping as many people as possible and not just charging the highest fees.
Deshbhakt professionals would return from work thinking about how they can contribute more to society and not how to get more money from under the table. A patriot officer will not think of bribes but of cleaning as many files as possible to help people, “he said.
The Deshbhakti curriculum will be implemented from kindergarten through 12th class when schools reopen for the respective grades. The curriculum will not have any textbooks. Facilitator manuals have been designed for three groups: Kindergarten through Class 5; Classes 6-8 and Classes 9-12 – and these will be used to instill patriotism among students through simple activities.
The launch event also unveiled the facilitators’ manuals for two cohorts – Classes 6-8 and 9-12 – and 100 stories of freedom fighters and patriots. Senior Deputy Minister Manish Sisodia said: “We talk about the battles of Bhagat Singh, Hemu Kalani, Jhansi Ki Rani and Tantia Topes, but we never discuss what led them to the battles, how they fought those battles. The Deshbhakti curriculum will close this one. knowledge gap, he said, while stressing that students will not be asked to memorize historical facts and that the curriculum will not preach moral values.
“He will not only talk about patriotism, but he will instill a passion for it. He will not preach moral values. We will not expect students to memorize historical facts, but will do a retrospective of their patriotism,” Sisodia said. Knowing that Bhagat Singh sacrificed his life at 23 and comparing themselves to that age, students will introspect that level of commitment, passion and embody it, he said.
“We must learn how Babasaheb (Ambedkar) surpassed the definitions of political independence and promised social and mental independence and how he established a solid constitution for us.” We will teach children the importance of this fight and make sure they realize what it is. it was like experiencing such disparities. We will include 100 stories each year in this curriculum, “he said.

Some of the chapters are: My India is glorious but why not developed, Deshbhakti: My country, my pride, Who is a Deshbhakt and the India of my dreams. The teaching method would be based on activities such as keeping a Deshbhakti diary, participating in Deshbhakti dhyan, flag day activity and group discussion, among others. Sisodia said that each class would begin with a five-minute Deshbhakti Dhyan where students will talk about five new patriots each day.
“Since this is the first year (of the curriculum) and we are celebrating the 75th anniversary of Independence, we are including 100 patriots.” Next year onwards, we will include 100 more and then another 100 after that.
