Honda Cars India CEO, Yoichiro Ueno: A Self Confessed Indophile

Indian culture and food has never failed to delight people. CEO of Honda Cars India, Yoichiro Ueno stated that he prefers Indian food over Japanese food.

While speaking to ETPanache, he said that, “In our office canteen, we have both Indian and Japanese food. I alternate between the two since the Indian preparations are really tasty and very often I cannot resist it.”

While visiting India, he has ensured that he made the most of his time travelling. Apart from visiting Ajanta and Ellora caves, he has also visited Taj Mahal.

He said, “A lot is written about Ajanta and Ellora caves in Japanese textbooks. Both caves are unique and different from each other, which made me marvel at the precision of the makers.”

Though he was mesmerised by the beauty of Taj Mahal, he said that it was very hot and his family struggled to cope with the Indian heat.
