Miss Universe 2016 date and venue announced
The coveted Miss Universe 2016 pageant is slated to be held in the Philippines on January 30, 2017. In a press conference held today in Makati, the Philippines Tourist Secretary, Wanda Corazon made the news official.
Wanda Corazon, the Philippines Tourist Secretary said, “I would like to inform everybody that the Miss Universe pageant will be on January 30, 2017, in the Philippines. The government is not going to spend any single centavo. It will be the private sector who would shoulder the expenses.”The reigning Miss Universe, Pia Wurtzbach, will have an outstanding farewell as Miss Universe on her home turf.Philippines as a nation is always known for its love and affection for beauty pageants.
This will be the third time when the Philippines will be seen hosting the Miss Universe pageant. In 1974, the pageant was held for the first time in Manila. Later, Philippines hosted the Miss Universe pageant for the second time in the year 1994, when Sushmita Sen from India was crowned as the winner.
