Sex racket: Moroccan model on police radar, was a key figure
New Delhi: The probe into the alleged sex racket has led the public on the trail of a Moroccan model. She’s supposedly a key figure in the ring run by P N Sanyal and his associates.
Sanyal mentioned the woman during interrogation and police also found some documents about her identity.
She visited Sanyal frequently and also visited a farmhouse owned by his associate quite often. Sources said she managed a travel firm run by the accused and coordinated meetings between guests and women. The police have invoked Section 14 of the Foreigners’ Act in the FIR. While the main reason is to book Sanyal for illegally confining a foreigner, sources said this also means that at least one of the women is being treated as an accused.
But Colonel Ajay Ahlawat (Retd) hasn’t been arrested yet even though the 23-year-old foreigner victim had told them that she had been introduced to Sanyal by Ahlawat. Police had on Thursday said that she wasn’t the only woman “handled” by Sanyal and team. “During search, copies of passports of other foreign women and phone numbers of dozens of other foreigners from Central Asian countries had been found at Sanyal’s residence,” a police officer.
Sources also said that Sanyal not just posed as a PMO man, he had also saved a number in his phone to show that he had a direct line to the PMO. “When he needed to show it, he would call up that number,” said a senior officer.
