Hyderabad youth killed in U.S., room-mate held
A youngster from Hyderabad, G. Sankeerth, who was working with a private company in the U.S., was murdered allegedly by his roommate at Austin in Texas.
Their family here at Kachiguda received the news through a relative living in Texas early on Tuesday.
Sankeerth, in his mid-20s, was living in a flat at Austin with Prashanth, a friend. Another youngster Sai Sandeep Goud — also from Hyderabad — joined their flat a fortnight ago. Precise details as to what happened were yet to be ascertained but Sankeerth’s family was told that he was stabbed to death.
Police have detained Sai Sandeep and shifted him to local prison, reports said.
“It seems Prashanth heard screams in the dead of the night and came out of his room only to find Sankeerth writhing in pain with a knife wound in the abdomen,” Sankeerth’s uncle Sudhakar told The Hindu over phone.
Following a phone call, the Austin police rushed there and shifted the youngster to a hospital where he was declared brought dead.
“The motive behind the killing is not yet known,” Mr. Sudhakar said.
