Girl promised job in school, gang-raped on premises
NEW DELHI: A 17-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped by two men on the premises of a private school in east delhi on Sunday evening. In her complaint, the girl, who works as domestic help, told police that she had been promised a job in the school by one of the accused, who is a scrap dealer. She had known him for more than a year.
Police said, according to the girl, the incident took place around 6.30pm, when she had gone to the market in the area. “The accused, who owns a scrap shop in the market, saw the girl and told her that he can get her a job in a school. He then took her to the school,” said a senior police officer.
Their entry inside the premises was facilitated by the school’s security guard, who was known to the scrap dealer, the officer added.
The girl, in her complaint, said that the scrap dealer asked her to wait at the office saying he would return with a teacher, who would interview her for the job. “She said within 15 minutes, the man returned with the guard and they locked the room from inside. She said the duo then took turns to rape her. When she tried to raise an alarm, they fled,” the officer said. The girl then returned home and narrated the incident to her mother, who took her to Jagatpuri police station and filed a complaint. The girl was sent for a medical examination and an FIR was registered.
