Rahul Gandhi gets death threat
PUDUCHERRY: Former Union minister V Narayanasamy received a letter at his residence in Puducherry on Monday morning which said All India Congress Committee vice-president Rahul Gandhi will be blown into pieces.
Rahul is scheduled to visit Puducherry’s enclave Karaikal on Tuesday to address a public rally ahead of the May 16 assembly election in Puducherry.
The unsigned letter claimed that load men and workers were affected by the policies of the Congress party. It said workers faced hardships as most of the industries were closed.
The letters held Congress party responsible for the sorry state of affairs and vowed to oppose the party strongly during electioneering. It threatened that late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi’s son Rahul Gandhi will be blown into pieces.Naryanasamy and other Congress leaders lodged a complaint with the inspector general of police Praveer Ranjan. Police registered a case and began investigations. Initial investigations revealed that the letter was posted in Puducherry.Meanwhile, senior Congress leaders decided to call on Union home minister Rajnath Singh seeking additional protection for Rahul.
