Jaish terror module busted in Delhi, 12 detained
NEW DELHI: In a major breakthrough, the Intelligence Bureau and the special cell of the Delhi Police have busted a Jaish-e-Mohammed terror module active in the national capital. The cops have detained 12 suspects from Delhi, NCR region and Deoband in Uttar Pradesh.
Sources say 8 of the 12 Jaish-e-Mohammed suspects have been nabbed from Delhi, while four of them have been picked up from Deoband. Bomb-making material and IED devices have been recovered from the suspects who are being interrogated at special cell’s headquarters at Lodhi Colony.
The identity and nationality of the suspects have not been disclosed.Senior cops said involvement of at least five of the suspects was certain. The rest, they said, were found tagging along the main suspects and hence have been detained so that their involvement can be probed.
The special cell has registered an FIR against the suspects for being members of an unlawful group (Unlawful Activities and Prevention Act, UAPA) and under the Explosives Act and for criminal conspiracy.
