PM Modi “Deliberately Delays His Departure” From Raj Bhavan to Avoid Disrupting Class 10 and 12 Exams in Bhopal.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday inaugurated the two-day “Invest MP Global Investor Summit” (GIS) 2025 in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, welcoming entrepreneurs from at least 60 countries.
In his opening remarks at the summit, PM Modi apologised for being late, realising that his departure from Raj Bhavan clashed with timings of exams of Class 10th and 12th scheduled today.
“The delay occurred because when I arrived yesterday, I realised that today is the exam day for students of 10th and 12th grade. The exam time and my departure time from Raj Bhavan were clashing,” he said at the event.
Due to the clash of times, the Prime Minister realised that roads would be closed for security reasons, which would create difficulties for students to reach their exam centres. “To avoid this difficulty, so that the children could reach their exam centres on time, I thought that I would leave the Raj Bhavan only after all the students reach their examination centre. So, I deliberately delayed my departure by 15-20 minutes,” he said.
The city is abuzz with preparations, transforming into a vibrant hub for the “Invest MP Global Investor Summit” (GIS) 2025 on Monday and Tuesday (February 25).
During his speech at the GIS 2025 event, PM Modi said the world was optimistic about the future of India’s economy. “Madhya Pradesh is the fifth-largest state of India in terms of population, It is among the top states in terms of agriculture and minerals,” he commented.
“In the past two decades, MP has seen a lot of transformations. There were issues with electricity and water, and law and order was even worse. In such a scenario, industrial development was difficult. But in the past twenty years, with the help of the people, the BJP state government focused on governance. Two decades ago, people used to stay away from investing here, and now it is among the top states in the country for investment,” the PM further remarked.
The summit aims to attract investments and foster partnerships with global players, positioning Madhya Pradesh as a major investment destination. With the convergence of industry leaders, diplomats, and trade organizations, GIS 2025 is poised to drive economic growth and development in the state.
The summit will welcome entrepreneurs from 60 countries, 13 ambassadors, six high commissioners, and several consul generals. Prominent industry leaders, including Kumar Mangalam Birla, Gautam Adani, Nadir Godrej, Piruz Khambatta, Baba N Kalyani, Rahul Awasthi, and Neeraj Akhoury, are also set to attend.
