PM Modi Responds to Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Shakti’ Comments: ‘I Accept the Challenge’
Directing his focus towards Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s ‘shakti’ statement, Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized, “To me, every mother, daughter, and sister embodies ‘shakti’.”
During a Lok Sabha election rally in Telangana’s Jagtial on Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi responded to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s ‘shakti’ remarks by asserting that every mother and daughter in the country embodies ‘shakti’.
“The INDI alliance, in their manifesto, stated their opposition to ‘shakti’. To me, every mother, daughter, and sister embodies ‘shakti’, and I revere them as such. I am a devotee of Bharat Mata. Their manifesto aims to eradicate ‘shakti’, and I am ready to confront this challenge. I will stake my life on it,” Modi remarked.
The Prime Minister also highlighted that the landing site of Chandrayaan-3 was named ‘Shiv Shakti’. “Is it appropriate to discuss the destruction of ‘shakti’? We commemorated the triumph of the Chandrayaan mission by christening the landing site as ‘Shiv Shakti’. The battle lies between those seeking to annihilate ‘shakti’ and those who venerate it. The showdown will unfold on June 4th,” he emphasized.
During the concluding event of the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in Mumbai on Sunday, Rahul Gandhi likened the NDA government to the Hindu symbol of ‘shakti,’ commonly linked with Maa Durga, while announcing the opposition’s battle against it.
“In Hinduism, there exists a concept known as ‘shakti.’ We are challenging that force. The query arises, what does this ‘shakti’ signify? It’s the essence within the EVM’s kingpin and pervades every institution of the nation, including the ED, CBI, and Income Tax department,” Rahul Gandhi remarked.
In his criticism of the prime minister, Rahul Gandhi stated, “Modi is merely a facade, working on behalf of a powerful force. He is a superficial individual lacking the strength he claims to possess.”
Expressing his discontent, BJP IT cell head Amit Malviya labeled Rahul Gandhi as “Hinduphobic and misogynist.” He also highlighted how another prominent figure from the INDIA alliance, Udhayanidhi Stalin, made remarks against Sanatan Dharma.
“On X, Amit Malviya wrote about Udhayanidhi Stalin’s call for the annihilation of Sanatan Dharma and now Rahul Gandhi’s disparagement of Shakti. Maa Durga represents various aspects of Shakti, known by names like Sati, Parvati, Uma, Durga, Kali, Gauri, Tripura Sundari, Shivangi, Mahadevi, and more. She is revered as the primal power (adi shakti) responsible for creation, sustenance, and destruction. As the creative force (Shrishti shakti) of Brahma, the sustaining power (paalan shakti) of Vishnu, and the destructive force (samhaar shakti) of Lord Shiva, she holds a revered position as the mother figure in Hinduism, symbolizing women empowerment.”
