Train Caught By Rail Roko Protest Against A Minister For Killing Farmers.
Eight people, including four farmers, were killed in Lakhimpur Kheri on October 3 when they were run over by a minister’s car. The farmer claims the minister’s son cut off the protesting farmer.
The farmers’ organization called for the sacking and arrest of union minister Ajay Mishra over the incident involving Lahimpur in Uttar Pradesh, in which his son was arrested, and called for a national six-hour “Rail Roko” campaign.

Samyukta Kisan Morcha, a joint body of farmers’ unions, said it would hold a peaceful nationwide protest at the Rocco Railway for Justice for Violence at Lahimpur Kerry in Uttar Pradesh from 10am to 4pm.
“It (Roko Railway) will take place in different places in different areas. People across the country know where to stop the trains. The Indian government has not spoken to us,” said farmer leader Rakesh Tikait.
Northern Railways reported that 30 seats were affected and eight trains arranged after the Rococo protests.
Farmers in Punjab and elsewhere were seen crouching on railroad tracks as part of their protest. Four sections of the Ferozepur division were blocked by protesters, a railway official said. The Ferozepur-Fazilka section in Ferozepur and the Ferozepur-Ludhiana section in Ajitwal in Moga were affected, he added.

The son of United State Home Minister Ajay Mishra, Ashish, has been arrested in the case, but the farmer’s council says justice cannot be guaranteed as long as the minister is in government.
