LPG Price Witnesses Steepest Hike in the Country’s History, Raised by Rs 86
Non-subsidised LPG cooking gas price was hiked by steep Rs 86 today which is a reflection of the international standards.
Non-subsidised LPG, purchased by those who have either exhausted their quota of twelve bottles of 14.2 kg per year or given up their subsidies, will now need to pay Rs 737.50.
Till yesterday, the price was Rs 651.50 per cylinder, according to state-owned oil companies.
This is the steepest hike in the history of the country which comes on the back of Rs 66.5 per cylinder increase brought into effect from February 1.
Since October 2016, the rates have been on the rise. In September, non-subsidised LPG cylinder was priced at Rs 466.50 in Delhi and in 6 installments; the price has increased by 58% or Rs 271 per bottle.
ATF or Aviation Turbine Fuel price was also raised by Rs 214 per kilolitre to Rs 54,293.38 per kl.
According to an official statement, the price increase of non-subsidised LPG is in line with the rise in global LPG prices.
