4800 B-School Graduates to be hired by Coal India over 5 Years
Coal India (CIL) is likely to hire 4,800 B-school graduates in the next five years in order to solidify its global leadership status while gathering clean-energy revenue options.
The Kolkata-based coal producer which fires the power plants of India is expected to hold standardised tests so as to recruit talent as part of a front-loaded manpower planning programme.
From April 1 of the coming fiscal year, 1,600 business management graduates are likely to join the company. The number would reduce to eight hundred every year over the next 4 years as part of the recruitment process. Also, the process would focus on reducing the average age of the executives to 42 from the present age of 45.
A CIL senior executive stated that, CIL is one of the largest recruiters of management graduates in India and the company has already started with its process of recruiting management graduates for 2017-18. Also, he added that, those recruited would be groomed to take up leadership roles in the future so that they are able to fill the gaps if experienced people at the top decide to move.
CIL will witness eight hundred to one thousand executives retiring every year over the next 4 years.
