Universities in the U.S. Coming to the Aid of Indian Students
Amidst growing tensions over President Trump’s executive order targeting immigrants, different universities in the U.S. are sending emails to prospective students letting them know that they are always welcome in their campuses, no matter what the Trump government says.
While such emails are mainly aimed towards reassuring immigration students but they have also become essential since US is a hub for Indian students.
An email was received by Mubarak Kader who had applied for engineering management programme at Duke University, North Carolina. A student pursuing law at University of Miami stated that the president of the university has sent a message to the international students telling them, the university will always be a place where people from different cultures can come together and engage.
Similarly, other universities such as Northeastern University and University of Michigan have also sent emails to students who have fears of discrimination at the university as well as being detained at immigration points assuring them to pursue their dreams.
