
Iranian Anchor Hailed as Hero After Israeli Strikes, Viral Gesture Sparks Praise

On social media, Sahar Imami, one of the most well-known anchors for Iranian state television, is receiving a lot of appreciation for going back to work right away following an Israeli strike on the studio yesterday night. As Israeli attacks increased amid heightened tensions in the Middle East, dramatic footage showed the organization’s building in Tehran on fire yesterday.
An Israeli missile struck the Iranian TV studio’s premises when Imami was halfway through the bullet. The studio trembled with the force of the missile attack, displaying images, and she was forced to stand up and leave. But soon after, she came back and started her live broadcast again.
Regime supporters praised Imami’s bravery and strength on social media, and her picture was shared with top Shia-Iranian axis leaders.
According to one of the posts, “She is the face of Iranian women’s courage,” Another picture she shared with Nasrallah with the comment, “You cannot destroy an idea by killing.”
Her finger-pointing action while criticising Israel on TV, right before the strike filled the studio with smoke, went viral. Her gesture has been shown on internet posters alongside similar gestures made by former Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah and Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
Imami was also hailed in a post by Zahra Behramzadeh Azar, Iran’s Vice President for Women and Family Affairs, who described her as a symbol of Iranian women’s bravery and said she had become “the voice of all Iranian citizens in the face of aggression.”
Who Is Sahar Imami?
One of Iran’s most well-known news anchors is Sahar Imami. She has a background in food engineering and joined the media industry in 2010 as an anchor. She quickly became well-known throughout the country after appearing on Iran’s official news channel. She has a child and is married.
Her “calm demeanor and confident presence” were commended by Arabic-language media after Monday’s events. She was also praised for her “simplicity and avoidance of heavy makeup.”
Condemnation of the Attack
Online pro-Iranian voices widely denounced the attack on the Iranian State TV broadcasting headquarters.
Hezbollah called it a “heinous attack targeting Iran’s broadcasting centre” and denounced it as a “Zionist crime.” They described it as “systematic terrorism” with the goal “suppressing opposition, erasing truth, and ending the Iranian people’s revolution.”
In a statement, the Iranian broadcaster said: “The state media headquarters in Tehran were ruthlessly bombed by the Zionist entity. The news station is the target of the enemy’s attempt to stifle the voice of the great Iranian people.
The attack “shows how Iranian national media affects Israeli media.” The head of Iran’s broadcasting body stated, “The determination of Iranian journalists has not been and will not be broken by this attack.”
