Top TikTok Star Khaby Lame Exits U.S. After Brief ICE Detention for Visa Overstay
Amid President Donald Trump’s immigration enforcement and the ICE protests in Los Angeles, Khaby Lame has departed the United States.
After being arrested by immigration officials in Las Vegas for allegedly overstaying his visa, Khaby Lame, a well-known TikTok star with millions of followers, fled the United States. Lame has millions of fans on TikTok, making her the most popular figure in the world.
According to a statement from a US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) spokeswoman, Seringe Khabane Lame, a Senegalese-Italian influencer, was arrested on Friday at Harry Reid International Airport but was free to depart the country without a deportation order.
The ICE representative claimed that Lame “overstayed his terms of visa” after arriving in the US on April 30. President Donald Trump’s immigration crackdown and the anti-ICE demonstrations in Los Angeles, which have since expanded to other US cities, coincide with this news.
Khaby approved the voluntary departure
For individuals who are facing a deportation order and do not want it on their immigration records—which would bar them from entering the US for up to ten years—Lame’s voluntary departure could be a new indication of optimism. Earlier, political activist Bo Loudon announced on social media that Lame had been taken into custody at the Henderson Detention Centre after being arrested in Las Vegas.
Khaby Lame, a far-left TikToker, was recently formally detained by President Trump’s ICE after I identified him as an illegal alien. He’s in ICE CUSTODY and being held at the Henderson Detention Centre, according to the official DHS website,” Loudon posted on X on Friday. Later, he wrote that Lame had been given permission to go voluntarily.
