BCCI Announces Revised Venues for India’s Upcoming Home Cricket Season
According to the updated itinerary, the first Test match of the West Indies Men’s Tour of India will take place on October 2 at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium, as scheduled.
The Indian men’s, women’s, and A teams’ upcoming international home season venue modifications have been announced by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in a number of updates.
According to the updated itinerary, the first Test match of the West Indies Men’s Tour of India will take place on October 2 at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium, as scheduled. The second Test, which was originally scheduled to begin on October 10 at Eden Gardens in Kolkata, has been moved to New Delhi. In exchange, Kolkata will now host the first Test match of India’s series against South Africa, which was originally slated to start in New Delhi on November 14.
A venue change has also been made for the highly anticipated three-match ODI series between India Women and Australia Women in women’s cricket. Originally, the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai was supposed to host the series. The games have been moved, nevertheless, because of continuous outfield and pitch improvements. Now, the first two ODIs will be held in New Chandigarh, and the third and final ODI will be held in New Delhi.
Furthermore, the India A vs. South Africa A series has undergone modifications. The three-match, one-day series was originally scheduled to begin on November 13 at Bengaluru’s M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. Instead, Rajkot will now host these games.
The BCCI made it clear that all of the locations for the games that aren’t on this notice are still the same and will proceed as planned.
The board’s efforts to provide ideal playing conditions and logistical convenience for players and organisers are reflected in these modifications. Now, fans in the new host locations may anticipate top-tier international cricket matches with both visiting and Indian players.
Fans and other stakeholders will have plenty of time to prepare for the matches in their towns when the updated fixture list is soon to be posted on the official BCCI website and other platforms.
