Raptee Energy Launches First Electric Motorcycle from Chennai Manufacturing Facility
Raptee Energy’s manufacturing facility in Chennai is now fully operational, paving the way for the commercial launch slated for this quarter.
The initial batch of motorcycles will undergo stringent testing and homologation processes, including ARAI certification and rigorous on-road safety evaluations, to ensure adherence to the highest standards of quality and performance, the company said in a statement.
Chennai-based EV startup Raptee Energy on Tuesday, April 16, announced the rollout of its first production-ready motorcycle from its manufacturing plant. This achievement signals Raptee Energy’s evolution from a startup to a formidable player in the EV market.
Speaking on the occasion, Dinesh Arjun, CEO & Co-founder of Raptee Energy, expressed his excitement, remarking, “For over four years, we at Raptee have envisioned electric motorcycles not merely as substitutes but as genuine upgrades to traditional ICE alternatives. In a bid to enhance consumer engagement, Raptee intends to inaugurate its first store at its Chennai facility. This establishment will not only serve as a retail outlet but will also offer consumers an immersive brand experience, including guided tours of the manufacturing facility to witness firsthand the meticulous craftsmanship behind the motorcycles.
JP Vasudevan, Chief Business Officer (CBO) of Raptee, elaborated on the company’s strategic marketing and distribution approach, stating, “We are strategically positioned to establish a robust distribution network for our motorcycles, commencing from Chennai and expanding across other Indian cities. Our nationwide strategy aims to ensure widespread availability and accessibility for customers, blending online and offline channels to deliver a seamless consumer experience at every touchpoint.”
Raptee Energy’s electric motorcycles showcase a suite of patented technologies and innovations, featuring a high-voltage drivetrain for unparalleled performance, seamless charging compatibility with existing CCS2 infrastructure, and advanced driver assistance systems to guarantee unmatched safety, the company said in a release.
With an annual production capacity of 100,000 units at its Chennai facility, Raptee is poised to meet the escalating demand for sustainable mobility solutions, it informed.
