AAP Claims Centre Will Impose President’s Rule Soon
Atishi has stated that she’s received information from reliable sources suggesting there’s a political plot to overthrow the Arvind Kejriwal government.
In New Delhi, the government has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of attempting to enforce President’s rule in the capital. Atishi, a minister in Delhi, stated that they have received credible information indicating a political scheme aimed at destabilizing the Arvind Kejriwal administration.
Atishi mentioned that there has been a prolonged lack of movement in the appointments of senior IAS officers in Delhi, despite there being vacancies in various departments for several months.
“At a press conference, Atishi said that Arvind Kejriwal was arrested without evidence in a false case as part of a plan to overthrow Delhi’s elected government. She mentioned past incidents suggesting a deliberate conspiracy.”
“The AAP leader added that there have been no new officer appointments or internal transfers within Delhi, and officers have ceased attending meetings since the announcement of the elections.”
She further stated that the dismissal of Mr. Kejriwal’s private secretary was also a component of the “conspiracy.”
The BJP refuted all allegations, stating that the AAP has been inventing new stories on a daily basis.
“The party is fabricating entertaining tales every day. Their accusation about officials not being appointed contradicts the fact that the Chief Minister hasn’t met the Lieutenant General since September,” remarked BJP spokesperson Harish Khurana.
The strong criticism followed shortly after the Delhi High Court dismissed Mr. Kejriwal’s petition challenging his arrest on March 21. Within hours of the court’s decision denying him protection from arrest, the AAP leader’s residence was raided, and he was subsequently taken into custody by the Enforcement Directorate.
The Chief Minister was apprehended by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in a corruption case related to the recently annulled Delhi liquor policy, during the latter part of last month.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) contends that the Delhi liquor policy for 2021-22 yielded an unusually high profit margin of 12% for wholesalers and nearly 185% for retailers. Central agencies have directed their investigation towards uncovering an alleged network comprising middlemen, businessmen, and politicians, referred to as the “South Group”.
