Actress Kangana Ranaut took to X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday evening to share a post following her meeting with BJP national president JP Nadda. In the post, she included a photo along with a message.

In the picture, Kangana wore a pink saree and jewellery as she stood next to the BJP leader. She smiled while holding a bouquet. Kangana wrote, “Today met National President Honorable Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda ji. I will always be grateful for his guidance and support, I will work hard for the progress and prosperity of my area Mandi. Jai Hind (National Flag emoji).”
Kangana will contest from Mandi for Lok Sabha polls
Recently, Kangana Ranaut was announced as the Lok Sabha candidate from Mandi in Himachal Pradesh by the BJP. Expressing her excitement, Kangana shared a note on her Instagram stories, stating, “I have always wholeheartedly supported my beloved Bharat and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Today, the national leadership of BJP has chosen me as their Lok Sabha candidate from my hometown, Mandi in Himachal Pradesh. I respect the decision of the high command regarding contesting in the Lok Sabha elections.”
Expressing her gratitude, she remarked, “It is a privilege and a joy to formally become a member of the party. I eagerly anticipate fulfilling my duties as a dedicated party worker and a trustworthy public servant. Thank you.” The Lok Sabha elections will take place over seven phases, spanning from April 19 to June 1, with vote counting scheduled for June 4.
The BJP has nominated veteran actor Arun Govil, known for portraying the role of Lord Ram in Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayan, as a candidate from Meerut in Uttar Pradesh.
Kangana’s upcoming films
In her upcoming period drama film titled “Emergency,” Kangana will make her debut as a solo director. Scheduled for release on June 14, the movie stars Kangana in the lead role portraying the late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Alongside Kangana, the film features Anupam Kher, Mahima Chaudhary, Milind Soman, Shreyas Talpade, Vishak Nair, and the late Satish Kaushik in significant roles.
She is set to collaborate once again with actor R Madhavan for an upcoming psychological thriller, directed by Vijay. The movie will be released in both Hindi and Tamil languages.
