Reflections of Womanhood, an exhibition showcasing the stories of women worldwide, serves as a tribute to the strength of femininity. The display features artworks including paintings, sculptures, photographs, installations, and prints created by 54 artists. Curated by Manisha Gawade, the exhibition emphasizes the significance of economic empowerment for women, highlighting the need for a transformative shift in education.
Walking to reclaim the city
For history enthusiasts eager for a historical immersion, this exclusive women’s walk at Lodhi Gardens offers an ideal opportunity to enjoy a day outdoors during springtime. Anoushka Jain, founder of Enroute Indian History, explains the aim of the walk: “It’s about celebrating sisterhood and providing a secure space where women feel comfortable. And what better occasion than Women’s Day to accomplish that?” Jain emphasizes how exploring heritage through such walks enables women to assert their presence in the city they inhabit.
Healing and connecting with the inner self
Recognizing the latent strength and resilience of women, particularly those with visual impairments, is the focus of this yoga session. Nivedita Joshi, founder of Iyengar Yogakshema, emphasizes the significance of Women’s Day as an opportunity to tap into one’s inner feminine power. She explains, “Yoga serves as a conduit for aligning the soul and body cells with a heightened cosmic energy. That’s why we organized this session, enabling visually impaired women to forge a deeper connection with their inner beings.”
