PM Responds to Lalu Prasad’s Comment as Top BJP Leaders Kick Off ‘Modi Ka Parivar’ Campaign
BJP leaders like Amit Shah, Anurag Thakur and JP Nadda added ‘Modi Ka Parivar’ along with their names on social media platform X (formally Twitter).
On Monday, the Bharatiya Janata Party initiated a significant online initiative named ‘Modi Ka Parivar’ to respond to RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav’s criticism of the Prime Minister regarding family-centric politics. Several prominent leaders, including Amit Shah and JP Nadda, appended the suffix to their social media handles to express support for Narendra Modi.
Union ministers Amit Shah, Anurag Thakur, Rajnath Singh and BJP president JP Nadda added ‘Modi Ka Parivar’ suffix to their names on social media platform X (formally Twitter).
In a direct criticism of Modi’s remarks on dynastic politics, the RJD leader addressed supporters of the grand alliance at Jan Vishwas Maha Rally on Sunday. He stated, “It’s not our fault if Narendra Modi doesn’t have a family of his own. He continuously boasts about the Ram temple but fails to adhere to Hindu traditions. According to Hindu customs, a son should shave his head and beard when his parents pass away. Modi didn’t do this when his mother died.”
Responding to Lalu Prasad Yadav’s remarks, Modi, during a rally in Adilabad, Telangana on Monday, stated, “They criticize my stand against dynastic politics, claiming I don’t have a family. My life is transparent, and I am dedicated to serving my country.”
Sudhanshu Trivedi slams RJD leader
During a press conference, BJP MP Sudhanshu Trivedi claimed, “The INDIA bloc excludes Hindus. They consider Hindus to be backward, Dalit, ‘Savarn’, North Indian, South Indian, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Punjabi, Bengali, and even Hindi, but not Hindu. Their intention is to fragment India. A certain family fragmented the nation for political gain, and now they align with those seeking to divide India further to gain power over at least one portion of the country.”
Previously, Bihar’s deputy chief minister Vijay Kumar Sinha condemned the comments made by the RJD president, considering them offensive and disrespectful to Sanatan Dharma.
Vijay Kumar Sinha remarked that the conduct of RJD leaders, including Lalu Prasad, demonstrates their lack of seriousness towards politics and their efforts to undermine the longstanding tradition of Sanatan Dharma.
“He remarked that the language employed by Prasad, who has been convicted in corruption cases himself, towards our PM reflects his mindset…they (RJD) oppose Sanatan Dharma and aim to dismantle the tradition that has endured for centuries,” he stated.
Vijay Kumar Sinha supported Modi, emphasizing his contributions to Sanatan Dharma and denouncing Prasad’s remarks.
“They (RJD leaders, including Lalu Prasad) exhibit behavior akin to political jesters. We need to thwart such influences. It’s widely acknowledged the contributions our PM has made to Sanatan Dharma,” Sinha informed reporters.
Congress defends Lalu Prasad’s comments
The Congres, meanwhile, backed its INDIA bloc ally Lalu Prasad over the issue. “Why are they not worried for the families of those who commit suicide, whether they are youth or farmers. This is to divert from the issues. Every hour, one farmer and two youths commit suicide in this country. If they had been worried about them, they (BJP leaders) would have added ‘Farmer’s family’ to their names… We wish PM Modi would have reacted to the suicide of those two youths who commit suicide every hour,” Congress leader Pawan Khera told news agency ANI.
