Tragic Loss: Lasya Nanditha, BRS Lawmaker, Killed in Hyderabad Road Accident

Bharat Rashtra Samithi MLA G Lasya Nanditha met with a tragic demise in a road accident in Telangana’s Sangareddy district on Friday morning. Nandita was en route to the city when the accident occurred. According to police reports, the driver of the Maruti XL6 lost control of the vehicle, colliding with the metal barrier on the left side of the expressway, resulting in the immediate fatality of the BRS MLA. However, the car’s driver was subsequently hospitalized at a nearby private facility in Patancheru and is currently in critical condition.
Who is BRS lawmaker Lasya Nanditha?
- Having been born in Hyderabad in 1986, Lasya Nanditha ventured into the realm of politics approximately ten years ago.
- G Lasya Nanditha is the offspring of the late G Sayanna, a former BRS legislator.
- Previously, she served as a corporator in the Kavadiguda division of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation.
- In the assembly elections last November, she secured victory in the Secunderabad Cantonment assembly constituency.
- Following the passing of her father Sayanna, a five-time MLA from the constituency, Nanditha was nominated by the BRS to contest from the Secunderabad Cantonment constituency.
- Nanditha secured success in the 2023 Telangana assembly elections, triumphing over BJP’s Ganesh N with a margin of 17,169 votes.
Expressing grief over the demise of the BRS MLA, Telangana CM Revanth Reddy penned on X, “The unexpected passing of legislator Lasya Nandita has profoundly saddened me. I shared a close bond with Nandita’s late father, Swargiya Sayanna, who departed from us in the same month last year… It’s indeed disheartening that Nandita also departed suddenly in the same month. My heartfelt sympathies go out to their family… May her soul find eternal peace in the divine embrace.”
Nanditha narrowly avoided another road accident at Marriguda junction on February 13, as she was returning from a public rally. A car driven by an intoxicated individual collided with her vehicle while she was en route to Hyderabad.
