Ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the Interim Budget today, representing the concluding budget of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s second term. Prior to the Interim Budget, President Droupadi Murmu emphasized India’s continued status as the swiftest expanding major economy, stating, “In 2023, India achieved historical growth, surpassing other major economies despite global challenges. India experienced approximately 7.5 percent growth for two consecutive quarters.”
