WhatsApp To Add The Ability To Pause The Recording Of Voice Messages, Solution For The Chat Backup Problem Found: Reports.
WhatsApp is said to allow users to pause and resume voice message recording via a future update.
WhatsApp is reportedly working to allow users to pause voice recordings while they are being recorded, via a future update.
The alleged update will allow users to pause and resume recording their voicemail from where they had stopped. Additionally, the instant messaging service is also working to fix an issue with chat backups.
A Reddit user has detailed the steps required to resolve the issue where Google Drive chat backups were 100 percent locked while restoring.
WABetaInfo, a WhatsApp feature tracker, reported that users will soon be able to pause and resume recording their voice messages.
The new feature of Facebook-owned chat apps will be released soon for beta users of Android and iOS. The website also mentioned that since this feature is still in development, it may take some time to even get to beta versions of the app.
The video above, shared by the website, shows how the feature will supposedly work once it launches.
After recording a voice message, WhatsApp users will see another record button that will allow users to resume recording their voice message. There is no information on when the feature will begin rolling out for the beta and stable versions of WhatsApp.
Also, a Reddit user (u / torojet) has shared the process through which users can fix the issue where restoring their chat backup got stuck 100 percent. This process was detected by WABetaInfo.
If restoring a user’s chat backup crashes 100 percent, they may not be able to back up their chats during this period, potentially losing important messages. The following are the steps a user must take to resolve the problem.
How to fix WhatsApp’s chat backup from Google Drive issue
1.Unlink WhatsApp Account from Google Drive.
2.Uninstall WhatsApp.
3.Rename the most recent database to mgstore.db – without changing the .crypt extension. This database can be found using a file manager.
4.Install WhatsApp using the same mobile number.
5.Since WhatsApp and Google Drive are unlinked, the chat app will use the local database to restore the chats.
6.Once restored, users can link WhatsApp and Google Drive through the backup settings in the app.
