The Chandigarh Air Force Station will organize an air show in partnership with the Union Territory Administration on Wednesday evening at Sukhna Lake.
The one-hour event, to be held on the occasion of the Swarnim Vijay Diwas (50th year of victory) of the 1971 India-Pakistan War, will feature Surya Kiran and other aircraft to observe the country’s historic victory. on the battlefield.
In the coming days, celebrations and air shows will also take place in other parts of the country, according to a report.

Surya Kiran’s aerobatic team, formally known as the IAF’s “Stunt Units in Formation”, is equipped with state-of-the-art Hawk aircraft built by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL).

Earlier last week on Saturday, Surya Kiran’s team held similar displays on Jalandhar, and he is also scheduled to hold another show in Srinagar on September 26 (Sunday), as well as at Hindon Air Base and Pune on October 16.
Speaking to news agencies, officials familiar with planning for the mega-event reported last week that Wednesday’s program will be free and open to all. Although people are cordially invited to witness the event from the Sukhna Lake Walking Trail, admission without face masks will not be provided; in view of the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) protocols currently in force throughout the country.
People have also been advised to witness the show from their rooftops, whenever possible. Chandigarh Police were instructed to strictly enforce appropriate Covid behavior during the event.
