Amazon Astro Robot With Rotating Screen Mounted On Wheels, Alexa Support Launch.

Amazon on Tuesday announced a dog-shaped home robot called Astro and a deal with Walt Disney to imbue its voice-controlled technology in hotels, striving to make its virtual assistant Alexa a more important part of consumers’ lives.
The home robot is designed to perform tasks such as home supervision, setting routines and reminders, and can play music and TV shows while on the move around the house.
The device, which has digital eyes on a rotating screen mounted on wheels, is available at an introductory price of $ 999.99 (approximately Rs. 74,190) and a regular price of $ 1,449.99 (approximately Rs. 1.07 lakhs).
Other launches in its latest line include a smart thermostat, an Echo Show 15 smart display, and a new health-tracking band called Halo View.
The Echo Show 15 is wall mountable and powered by AZ2 Neural Edge, a processor that helps users personalize the display.
In its effort to attract the next generation of customers, children, the company introduced Amazon Glow, a device for playing, reading or drawing during a video call.
In its partnership with Disney, it will launch an Alexa-powered voice assistant at Disneys theme park hotels, along with a paid feature that allows customers to interact with Disney characters at home.
The feature is expected to launch next year and will allow users to interact with Disney characters with Hey, Disney! Voice command. Amazon has released a number of new devices each year, including voice-controlled sunglasses and a home drone, which have not become mass sellers. The devices represent a fraction of Amazons total sales.
