US President Joe Biden received a Covid-19 vaccine booster on Monday and told Americans that they are still resisting the injections that are harming the country.
Biden rolled up his left sleeve at the White House and received a third dose of Pfizer according to the recently approved health guide, which allows boosters for people 65 and older.
“I know it doesn’t look like it, but I’m over 65,” the 78-year-old Biden joked.
Also eligible for boosters are adults with high-risk medical conditions and those in jobs where they are frequently exposed to the virus.
But the problem, Biden said, is that a large chunk of Americans continue to reject even one shot of the vaccine, fueling a deadly surge in the Delta variant across the country.
Biden said that 77 percent of Americans had been vaccinated, but this was not enough, and that still almost a quarter refused.
