“Aa Rahi Hai Police”: The Sooryavanshi Moment Akshay Kumars Was Waiting For.

Akshay Kumar finally made the big reveal: Rohit Shettys’ police drama will premiere on Diwali this year, he shared on social media on Saturday. The announcement by Akshay Kumars followed the statement by Maharashtra’s Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray that all movie theaters in Maharashtra will be able to open after October 22.
Sharing a behind-the-scenes moment from Sooryavanshi’s sets, Akshay Kumar wrote: “Many families would be thanking Uddhav Thackeray today! Grateful for allowing movie theaters to reopen in Maharashtra starting October 22. Ab kisi ke roke na rukegi – a rahi hai police (Not stopping now. Police are coming). Diwali 2021 “.
Directed by Rohit Shetty, Sooryavanshi stars Akshay Kumar in the title role, while Katrina Kaif plays her love interest. Actors Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh, who have starred in director’s cop movies before, will make guest appearances in the film.
Sooryavanshi is among the films that have opted for a theatrical release over digital broadcast and have therefore been rescheduled multiple times due to the pandemic situation.
In 2020, filming and productions were halted in mid-March due to the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. However, in the months of October and November, filming schedules were allowed to resume.
When the second wave of the pandemic hit the country in April, a lockdown was once again imposed, leaving distributors and cinemas affected. As confinement restrictions began to ease, several states allowed movie theaters to operate. But Maharashtra, a key hub for Bollywood movies, continued to close cinemas until the recent announcement.
Sooryavanshi was initially expected to open in theaters on March 24 of last year; the release date of the films was moved to Diwali last year. Sooryavanshi was once again rescheduled to open in theaters on April 30 this year and now, Diwali 2021 appears to be the final release date. With its premiere on Diwali, Sooryavanshi will have a box office collision with Marvel Studios Eternals, which is scheduled to premiere on November 5.
Sooryavanshi will mark the first big-budget Bollywood film to hit theaters since closing.
