Prime Minister Narendra Modi will meet Defense Minister Rajnat Singh, Interior Minister Amit Shah and National Security Adviser Ajit Doval at his official residence to discuss the current situation in Afghanistan. The meeting was held after the Taliban claimed complete control of Afghanistan and fought a critical battle in the Panjshir Valley, where the Afghan National Resistance Front is located.
The troops led by former Vice President Amrullah Saleh and former Afghan guerrilla commander Ahmed Shah Massoud’s son Ahmed Massoud have been fighting the Taliban at this base in the mountains.
Senior Taliban Spokesperson Zabi Hula Zabihullah Mujahid said: “With this victory, our country is completely out of the quagmire of war.” At a press conference in Kabul.
However, the Afghan National Resistance Front denied the Taliban’s claims. “The roads in the Panjshir Valley are connected to the Taliban. However, the fighting in the Sub Valley continues,” they told the news agencies.
“We assure the Afghan people that the struggle with the Taliban and its partners will continue until justice and freedom prevail,” the front also wrote on Twitter.
In view of the changing situation in Afghanistan, Prime Minister Modi established a high-level team to focus on India’s top priorities. According to sources, the organization is composed of Foreign Minister S Jaishankar, Mr. Dorval and other senior officials. The organization has been monitoring the local situation in Afghanistan and the international community’s response to it.
In this war-torn country, thousands of people were eager to bypass the Taliban rule, and the evacuation ended on August 31.
