Apple AirTag Tracker Started Receiving Firmware Updates, New Features Have Not Yet Been Announced: Report.
According to reports, Apple AirTag has obtained the internal version number 1A291a through the new update.
According to reports, Apple AirTag has begun to receive a new update of firmware version 1.0.291. The firmware update was released a few months after Apple released an older software version, which resolved concerns about Bluetooth tracker tracking. AirTag was launched in April to help people find and locate their precious items. In addition to the usual Bluetooth and NFC support, Apple also provides Ultra Wideband (UWB) technology in AirTag to provide accurate location tracking for compatible iPhone models.
According to 9to5Mac, the AirTag update brings the build number 1A291a. The firmware version of the previous AirTag software was 1.0.276, and the internal version number was 1A287b.
Apple has not yet revealed what new features or enhancements the update brings to its users. However, the latest update released in June is very important and includes anti-tracking features to address concerns that AirTag may be used to track someone. The time to play the alarm sound when the device is separated from its owner from the previous window has been reduced from three days to a “random” time between 8 and 24 hours.
When announcing the latest update, Apple also confirmed that it is developing an Android application for AirTag, which will be launched later this year. In particular, the Android application will allow users to detect AirTags that are detached from their owners, and it is possible that they are “traveling” with them without suspicion. It also applies to other “find my” network devices.
