Yesterday, Rane was arrested after Shiv Sena filed multiple lawsuits against him regarding his comments in “Jan Ashirwad Yatra” on Thackeray. He claimed that the Prime Minister of Maharashtra had forgotten the year of independence in his speech on August 15 and had to negotiate with his assistants in the middle of the speech.
“It is embarrassing that the chief minister does not know the year of independence. He tilted back to ask about the number of years of independence during his speech. If he was there, he would beat him severely,” Rane said. He said it triggered a big battle and protests in Shiv Sena.
