Tesla CEO Elon Musk Said That Tesla Is Developing A “Tesla Robot” Humanoid Robot To Complete “Boring tasks.”
The price of Tesla Bot is still a mystery.
Elon Musk announced that Tesla is working on a humanoid project and will launch the first prototype “sometime next year.” Musk introduced a robot called Tesla Bot at the Tesla Artificial Intelligence Day. He said it is user-friendly and will be able to perform “unsafe, repetitive or boring” tasks. Tesla will use its expertise in artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) technologies to build robots.
Tesla shared what the robot looks like when it is ready. The video shows a two-pedal robot walking towards the camera and then stopping when the video is cut off, asking the audience to “join our team.” Musk reposted this video.
Tesla stated on its website that it is looking for mechanical, electrical, control and software engineers to help leverage their expertise outside of the fleet.
The robot is 5.8 feet (1.8 m) tall and weighs 125 pounds (57 kg). It will be able to move at 5 mph (8 km/h) and carry a weight of 45 pounds (20 kg). It will have a screen to provide users with useful information. “We are setting it up…so it is on the mechanical level, on the physical level, you can escape it and most likely you will master it. I hope this will never happen,” Musk said at the beginning of the event Said with the audience’s laughter. He also said that manual labor will be an option in the future.
Prior to this, the technology billionaire had publicly opposed artificial intelligence on many occasions, saying that artificial intelligence was “a fundamental risk to human civilization.” Musk had asked the US government to better understand the latest achievements in artificial intelligence before it was too late. He said in 2018: “Once you realize this, people will be very scared. This is what it should be.”
Musk didn’t reveal how much Tesla Bot would cost.
