The Man Smuggled 100 Crore Worth Of Cocaine In His Stomach And Was Arrested In Mumbai.
“The total weight of recovered cocaine is 1,029 kg. This is one of the largest seizures of contraband from the corpse of a transport vehicle,” an official said.
The Narcotics Control Office said on Tuesday that an African Mozambican man was detained at the Mumbai International Airport. He allegedly had 1.02 kilograms of cocaine worth 100 million rupees in his stomach in the form of capsules.
An official said that the OCN team detained Fumo Emanuel Zedequias at the airport at 2am on Sunday, based on a consultation regarding drug “mules” (smugglers) smuggling high-value cocaine.
“During the interrogation, we found that the man had swallowed 70 capsules full of cocaine. He requested medical help, so we sent him to JJ Hospital in Byculla. This contraband was determined to be South American cocaine for ten times. It was removed from the body after the attempt, the last time it happened on Tuesday morning,” he said.
