Two Dead and 80 Injured in Jallikattu Event in Tamil Nadu
Two onlookers kicked the bucket, one of them gutted by a bull, and 80 people were harmed in the “jallikattu” (bull taming) sport at M Pudur range of the area, police said.
32-year-old Thirunavakarau, a building graduate, passed on the spot after he was assaulted by the bull, while another man “kicked the bucket of stun” when another bull kept running towards him.
The bull dashed into the blockade, behind which the man was standing. Out of stun, he endured a heart failure, given way and kicked the bucket on the spot, police said.
An aggregate of 80 people, generally bull tamers, were harmed in the occasion, they said.
The vast majority of the harmed were dealt with as outpatients at the medicinal station set up at the setting, while a couple others were hospitalized.
Other than this, five people were harmed in a conflict between two gatherings of bull tamers over the revealed wrong declaration of the prize champs by the coordinators. A large portion of the prizes, including motorbikes, were harmed in the brutality, police said. Ten people have been confined regarding the conflict, they included.
