Ajit Doval to Meet U.S. Defence Secretary this Week
Ajit Doval, National Security Advisor will visit Washington this week to initiate talks with top Trump administration officials and discuss a wide array of bilateral security issues and push forward the defence ties.
On March 24, Doval will meet James Mattis, US Defence Secretary, Pentagon spokesman Capt Jeff Davis told reporters. He also added that, the two are likely to discuss a wide range of bilateral security issues and those related to the defence relationship.
During his stay in the US, Doval will also meet his American counterpart, Lt Gen H R Macmaster.
The Mattis-Doval meeting later this week would be one of the highest-level meetings between the two countries after the Trump Administration came to power on January 20.
Mr Davis said he is not aware of the reasons for Mr Doval’s visit to the US, but the Defense Secretary would be meeting Mr Doval on the sidelines of the international meeting of anti-ISIS Coalition being hosted by the US State Department later this week.
