State Run NTPC Commissions 45 Megawatt Capacity at Rajasthan Solar Project
Power giant National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) announced commissioning of 45MW solar capacity today at Bhadla in Rajasthan. This will take the total installed capacity of the project to 160MW.
A senior official stated that, with the new commissioning, Bhadla solar power project’s capacity has gone up to 160MW and NTPC’s solar power project has reached 520MW.
Previous month, NTPC had commissioned 115MW capacity out of the 260MW Bhadla solar power project. The company has planned capacity addition of near about 1,000MW through renewable sources by 2017.
According to the senior official, the new commissioning will take the total installed capacity of NTPC Group to 48,188MW.
Presently, there are ten solar PV projects of NTPC. The Andaman & Nicobar project is of 5MW, the Dadri project is of 5MW, Talchar Kaniha (10MW), Ramagundam (10MW), Unchahar (10MW), Faridabad (10MW), Singrauli (15MW), Rajgarh (10MW), Bhadla (160 MW), Anantapuram (250MW).
By 2032, NTPC intends to become a 130-GW company with diversified fuel mix and a 600 billion units company in terms of generation.
