Noted Gujrati Writer and Inspiration behind ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Oolta Chashmah’ Passes Away
An Indian humorist, columnist and writer, Taarak Mehta passed away at the age of 87. He was also popular for his Gujrati column, ‘Duniya Ne Undha Chasma’.
According to reports by ANI, he died after a prolonged period of illness.
He received Padma Shri in the year 2015.
In March 1971, his humorous column first appeared in Chitralekha and since then, he had to never look back.
SAB TV on 2008 started with the popular show ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Oolta Chashmah’ based on his column which soon became the channel’s flagship show.
He is survived by a daughter from his first marriage.
