Generation Capacity of Tata Power up by 8 Percent in Q3 FY’17
The power generation of Tata Power increased by over eight percent in the 3rd quarter of 2016-17 from a year ago, according to a statement by Tata group utility.
The standalone generation of the company stood at 13,022 million units in Q3 FY’17 against 12,032 million units during the same quarter of FY’16.
Along with its subsidiaries and jointly controlled entities, Tata Power has a gross generation capacity of 10,496 megawatts. The presence of the company spreads across various segments of the power sector like generation (hydro, solar, thermal and wind) transmission, fuel security and logistics as well as distribution and trading.
CEO and MD of Tata Power, Anil Sardana stated that, the company in this quarter has spread its footprint across 2 additional geographies namely Zambia and South Africa where additional generation is welcome.
Tata Power will continue to serve the nation earnestly and continue to be part of India’s growth story while selecting greener and good projects in select international geographies, he added.
The company stated that, it is on the road towards generating 30-40% of the total capacity generation of the company from non-fossil fuel sources by 2025.
