Mick Jagger Refusing to Publish his Memoir
Mick Jagger, co-founder and lead singer of the “The Rolling Stones” has penned down a 75,000 word memoir however he is unwilling to publish it.
The icon wrote the memoir during the 70’s when he was given 1 million pound for the project. But according to reports by femalefirst.co.uk, he decided not to publish the memoir and handed back the money.
As of now, the, memoir is with John Blake, writer and publisher, who has revealed that the memoir is kept in a “secret hiding place”.
Blake also said that, the memoir has been rejected by a publisher as it is light on drugs and sex. The memoir can be considered as a perfectly preserved time capsule written at a time when the Stones produced some of their greatest music and burned with the fire and passion of idealism and youth.
Blake is of the opinion that in the book, one would get to know a quieter, more watchful Jagger than his fast-living caricature. “All that famous partying had to wait till afterwards. Those extravagant feasts that rumour had it the Stones demanded backstage: caviar, vintage champagne, stuffed quails… they never ate any of it. They took their shows far too seriously for that” Blake added.
On the other hand, The Rolling Stones manager, Joyce Smith stated that the memoir definitely exists however Blake wouldn’t be allowed to publish it.
