A Slew of Companies including Google, Apple, Facebook, Uber and Netflix Join to Take Legal Action against President Trump
A total of 97 companies, starting from Apple to Uber, filed am earnest legal brief condemning Trump’s executive order on immigration. This has stepped up the growing opposition of President Trump’s executive order.
Late on Sunday, the brief was filed in the 9th circuit court of appeals and the brief emphasizes on the importance of immigrants on the society and economy. Though, it was decided by the companies to file the brief later on in the week however efforts were accelerated in the weekend over other legal challenges to the order, stated people who are familiar with the development.
Technology companies participating in the legal action include Facebook, Airbnb, Intel, Google, Uber Technologies, Snap and Netflix. Apart from technology, some other companies to participate in it include yoghurt maker, Chobani and Levi Strauss & Co.
According to the brief, immigrants are part of some of the greatest discoveries for the U.S. and they have created some of the most iconic and creative companies in the country.
A U.S. district judge on Friday temporarily lifted the immigration ban imposed by the Trump administration. Reinstating of the immigration restrictions was declined by an appeals court over the weekend.
