OIL Urged by Deputy Chief Minister of Arunachal to Resume Oil Operations
Chowna Mein, Deputy Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh has urged Oil India Limited (OIL) to resume their oil operations as well as explore possible areas for oil and natural gas extraction.
Mein in a meeting with OIL officials stated that setting up of an oil and natural gas plant and oil extraction operation in Arunachal Pradesh would increase business activities in the state that would in turn help the economy of the state.
He also added that, such an initiative would also help in establishing new industries as power generation from oil and natural gas plant would offer employment opportunities to the unemployed.
He has also urged OIL officials to undertake social welfare activities under the CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) programme. He even assured to look into the issues regarding Ningru Extension Petroleum Mining Lease (PML) in Namsai and Chanlang districts of Arunachal Pradesh.
Issues related to proposal for development of a 10MW Natural Gas Plant at Kumchai were also discussed by Chowna Mein. Kamlung Mossang, Geology and Mining Minister present at the meeting has also urged OIL officials to create more employable opportunities in their area of operation as well as reserve seats for the local youths.
