Startup Founders are offering their Support to Jallikattu
With protest movements across the state of Tamil Nadu, Startup founders are now offering their support to continue the bull-taming sport, Jallikattu. They are even encouraging their employees to participate in the protest movement.
Starting from farmers, to software engineers to politicians and youth activists, all are supporting the protests to continue with the traditional sport of Tamil Nadu.
Freshdesk co-founder, Girish Mathrubootham stated that Jallikattu happens to be an integral part of the culture of the state and protests are essential at this stage. An ardent follower of Rajinikanth, Mathrubootham moved to Chennai from where he started building his products. The office space of Mathrubootham features themed artwork on the celluloid journey of Rajinikanth. When asked about changing the theme of his office space with some themes on Jallikattu, Mathrubootham stated that some new themes are definitely being considered.
Mr. Suresh Sambandam, CEO of Kissflow, an automation software provider stated that they are totally in support of Jallikattu and has even staged agitations near to Tidel Park. He also stated that there are other startups in the same building where his office is situated who too are supporting the agitation.
Apart from the startups, small eateries and restaurants in the state are also lending their support by downing the shutters. Also, 10 bus trade unions pledged support to the protests and on Friday, All India Bank Employees union protested in different locations leading to vehicular traffic in and around Marina.
