RBI relaxes ATM withdrawal limit to Rs 4500 from Rs 2500 per day
MUMBAI: The Reserve Bank of India on Friday relaxed the daily ATM withdrawal limit to Rs 4500 from the earlier cap of Rs 2500. However, the weekly withdrawal limit of Rs 24,000 remains unchanged even as the 50-day demonetisation exercise comes to a close.
“On a review of the position, the daily limit of withdrawal from ATMs has been increased with effect from January 01, 2017, from the existing Rs 2,500 to Rs 4,500 per day per card,” the banking regulator said in a notification issued late Friday evening. “There is no change in weekly withdrawal limits.”
The Reserve Bank of India has also asked banks to ensure that disbursals on ATMs should predominantly be in the denomination of Rs 500.
