Petrol bomb hurled at BJP office
Tension gripped Dindigul town as unidentified persons hurled petrol bomb on the district office of the Bharatiya Janata Party in the early hours of Sunday. The gang also burnt the party flag hoisted in front of it.
The iron shutter of the party office was damaged as the office remained closed at the time of attack.
Meanwhile, the car owned by Hindu Munnani State executive committee member B.G. Bose was also set on fire. The miscreants reportedly poured fuel on four tyres of the car and set it on fire while Mr. Bose and his family members were sleeping inside the house. He had parked his car in front of his house at Azhagu Nagar. The police brought the fully burnt car to the station for further investigation. It was the third incident of violence against Hindu outfits in the last four days.
On Monday night, Hindu Munnani district executive committee member Shankar Ganesh was attacked by a gang at Sellandi Amman Temple area.
The police were also in search of a gang that hurled a petrol bomb on a mosque near Seven Cross Road area in R.M. Colony on Friday night.
