Jayalalithaa getting better: Hospital
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa is responding well to the treatment and “there is no question of taking the Honourable Chief Minister abroad for treatment, as there is no necessity at all for this,” said Subbiah Viswanathan, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Apollo Hospitals on Sunday.
At a press conference, he said Ms. Jayalalithaa “continues to get better. She will be discharged in a few days and will soon resume her normal duties. Necessary medications were being administered as required.”
“As per standard medical protocols, necessary investigations and tests are being done to prevent recurrence of fever. The honourable Chief Minister is continuing on normal diet,” he said.
Health Minister C. Vijaya Baskar, Health Secretary J. Radhakrishnan, the director of medical services at the hospital, Sathyabama, were present at the media briefing. Ms. Jayalalithaa was admitted to Apollo Hospitals here on Thursday night with fever and dehydration.
