Congress neta’s son buys apartment in Mumbai highrise for Rs 100 crore
In one of the biggest property transactions in recent times, Ajeenkya Patil, son of Congress leader and former Bihar Governor DY Patil, has purchased a triple duplex apartment at Worli’s Silverene Terrace for nearly Rs 100 crore.
The sea-facing 23-storey building is a much sought-after address in the city, and the realty insiders are calling the deal a “game-changer”, as it has come at a time when high-end residential market has seen a serious slump.Sources said that the property has been purchased in the name of Pa til’s firm called AIPS Real Estate, and the signatory is one of the firm’s directors, Rajesh Raorane. “The property was bought for around Rs 95.4 crore and the stamp duty was around Rs. 4.7 crore,” a source said.
THE SPRAWLING PROPERTY
Patil has purchased a part of the 21st floor, along with the 22nd and the 23rd floors. The triple duplex property comes with a sprawling terrace and parking on the third podium level.
Patil did not respond to calls but his company’s spokesperson, Dilip Kawad, confirmed the deal.
In 2009, developer Noshir Talati secured the redevelopment rights to the property.
