Truck carrying currency notes develops snag
One of the two trucks carrying currency notes from Mysuru to Thiruvananthapuram developed a mechanical snag at Kalligudi near here on Sunday.
Madurai rural district police said that the crew accompanied by a team led by a Sub-Inspector of Police attached to the CISF had parked the vehicles near Kalligudi for breakfast.
After a while, when they were about to leave, one of the vehicles developed a mechanical snag. Immediately, the Kalligudi police were informed and assistance was sought.
Local villagers rushed to have a glimpse of the trucks and some youths were seen taking photographs from their handsets.
When contacted, Madurai Superintendent of Police Vijayendra S. Bidari said that after the repair was attended to, the trucks left for Thiruvananthapuram at 12.30 p.m. with the escort.
